The Texas Woman’s University soccer team will host the seventh annual Pioneer Power Sprint Triathlon on Sunday, July 28, 2013, on the picturesque TWU Denton campus.

This USA Triathlon (USAT) sanctioned event is scheduled to begin at 6:45 a.m. and will feature a 300 meter swim, a 26 kilometer (16.1miles) bike ride, and a 3.1 mile run.

For the fifth consecutive year, the race will be produced by Dallas Athletes Racing under the supervision of race director Dan Jones. Multisport enthusiasts in the North Texas area will recognize Dallas Athletes as the company responsible for such wildly popular events as the St. Patrick’s Day, Caveman, TexasMan, Disco, and Monster triathlons.

The 2013 Pioneer Power Sprint will feature a challenging yet enjoyable race course. The 300 meter swim will take place in the 50 meter TWU Fitness and Recreation outdoor pool. The bike route travels out-and-back an aesthetically-pleasing stretch of Highway 428. The run will be a one-loop path that begins on the TWU Pioneer Golf Course before finishing at the Hubbard Hall oval in the center of the TWU campus.

Competitors in the 2013 Pioneer Power Sprint will receive a tech shirt, performance socks, and a finisher medal. The post-race festivities will include live music, free food and drink, awards, and more giveaways.

We will take the overall times of the three team members and the team with the lowest overall time in their division wins an individual and team trophy. THIS IS NOT A RELAY.

Each team member will do the swim, bike, and run. Team members are still eligible for overall and age group awards.

The Pioneer Power 5k!

Come join the fun with the first annually 5K WALK & Run. The 3.1 mile goes thru the TWU Pioneer Golf Course and then finishes in the center of the TWU campus. The post-race festivities will include live music, free food and drink, awards, and more giveaways.

Each runner will receive a commemorative t-shirt.

You must pick up your own packet. Friends and family members may not pick up packets unless athlete is a minor.

No race day packet pick up.
No race transfers or deferrals.

Triathlon Start Time - 6:45 a.m.

5k Start Time: 7:30 a,m.

Parking maps are issued at packet pick-up. There is parking within walking distance of the race site for spectators.
