Disco 10 Mile and 5 Mile Run

We are bringing the Disco 10 Mile and 5 Mile Run to the Gainesville area in 2012… The race will start and finish in the Park by the Zoo. The 10 Mile and 5 Mile course will incorporate running through Downtown Gainesville… It is a perfect location to Disco your life away… Enjoy the course, music, food, and post party fun… Gainesville welcomes you to experience there beautiful city in a Disco way…. DISCO LIVES ON BABY!!!!!

3) Friday Night Disco Concert. Featuring the band: Disco Inferno all the way from Florida..

6) Disco Bike Rally ( Great Riding ) on Saturday, the day before the half marathon!

The course starts and finishes in the Park by the Zoo… It is a relatively flat course that incorporates a run through the Zoo, Park and Downtown Gainesville… Our ten mile course is flat and fast – yes, really! Entertainment throughout the course and well stocked Disco aid stations with medical support will be on course. Mile markers at every mile. Porta-potties will be plentiful and visable and excellent SAG support will be provided. Overall event operations will be professional and precise.

The finish area will feature a spacious family reunion area and a big time barbeque and beer garden – Texas style!

Race Rules
• You must be able to complete the ten mile distance in 3 hours.
• Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. No exceptions.
• Race numbers are required to participate.
• You must show photo ID to pick up your race packet and bib number.
• You must be in good health and physically prepared to take on the challenge of the ten mile distance.
• Traffic and safety regulations prohibit early starts. Early starters will be eliminated from the Official Results.
• No coaches, bikes, in-line skates, baby joggers or dogs will be allowed on the course.
• Ipods or other in-your-ear musical devices are strongly discouraged – you definitely won’t need them.

Racing Strategy
This is pretty simple, like Forest Gump, “We are running!” on Sunday, October 14, 2012. Here is where the sweat flies. The course starts and finishes in beautiful downtown Gainesville, TX. The course is pretty much “hill-less” so run fast.
The day will include a 10 Mile ,5 Mile Run and a one-mile Disco Dash. We are hard at work to make this a memorable day.
